I've been on their TRT program for a year now and it has changed my life. After my initial consultation with Brent I couldn't wait to get started … my only regret is I didn't start this sooner…

FAQ

Common questions.

AE Health is a Canadian telehealth service focused on hormone health for adults over 40. We help men and women make sense of changes they may be noticing — in energy, sleep, mood, libido, and overall wellbeing — through a clinician-led, lab-informed approach. Your care is provided online by licensed nurse practitioners with physician oversight, so you can be assessed and supported from home instead of waiting on a specialist referral.

Getting started is straightforward, and you won't have to navigate long forms on your own. Reach out — you start by sharing a few basic details about yourself and what you'd like help with, then request a call. Speak to a Canadian specialist — an intake coach or nurse practitioner calls you to walk through a detailed health and symptom questionnaire together, and arranges any lab testing needed. This gives your clinician a clear, objective picture of your hormone health before any recommendations are made. Review with your care team — a licensed nurse practitioner, with physician oversight, reviews your history, symptoms, and lab results to determine whether care is appropriate — and, if so, builds a plan suited to you. Any specifics are discussed privately with you during your consultation.

AE Health is designed for adults over 40 and older who are noticing changes that can come with shifting hormones — things like low energy, disrupted sleep, changes in mood, reduced libido, or changes in body composition. We support both men's and women's hormone health. It's a good fit if you'd rather have a structured, lab-based assessment with a licensed clinician than guess at what's going on. It isn't an emergency or urgent-care service, and completing an assessment doesn't guarantee a prescription or treatment — your nurse practitioner determines what's appropriate based on your history, symptoms, and lab results.

AE Health is currently available to residents of British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. We're working toward serving more of Canada — if you're outside these provinces, you're welcome to get in touch and let us know where you're located, and we can keep you posted as we expand.

Your care is led by licensed nurse practitioners, with physician oversight. Every clinician involved is licensed to practice in your province — British Columbia, Ontario, or Saskatchewan — and works within Canadian medical and nursing standards. Your first point of contact is an intake coach, who helps you get set up and works through your initial questionnaire with you by phone. From there, a nurse practitioner reviews your information and lab results, oversees your assessment, and stays your point of contact for your care. This model — clinician-led, physician-supervised, and grounded in your individual results — is core to how we work: every plan is designed for the person in front of us, not pulled from a template.

Lab work is central to how we assess your hormone health. Rather than drawing conclusions from symptoms alone, we use objective lab results to give your clinician a clear, accurate picture before any recommendations are made. After your initial call, we arrange the lab testing that's appropriate for you and let you know where to complete it. Your results are sent back to your care team, and your nurse practitioner reviews them alongside your history and symptoms to determine whether care is appropriate and what would suit you best. Lab testing is part of the assessment, not a commitment — completing your labs doesn't obligate you to start anything. It simply means that if you and your clinician do move forward, the plan is based on real data about your body.

Many people come to us because something feels off and they're not sure why. We focus on the kinds of changes that can accompany shifting hormones as we age — things like low or flagging energy, poor or disrupted sleep, changes in mood, reduced libido, changes in body composition, and a general sense of not feeling like yourself. These concerns can show up differently for men and for women, and they can have a range of causes — which is exactly why we start with a proper assessment and lab work rather than assumptions. During your consultation, your nurse practitioner explores what you're experiencing in the context of your health history and results, and determines whether this is something we can help with.

Yes. Telehealth is a well-established way to receive care in Canada, and it's expanding access for people across the country. Every clinician you work with is licensed to practise in your province and operates within Canadian medical and nursing standards. Care is delivered safely because it's structured the way good medicine should be: you're assessed by a licensed nurse practitioner with physician oversight, decisions are grounded in your lab results and health history, and your information is handled securely throughout. It's worth noting that we're not an emergency service — if you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

Protecting your information is a priority. Your health records are encrypted and stored securely, and they're accessible only to the care team involved in your treatment. We don't share your health information without your consent. We handle your personal health information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the provincial health-information legislation that governs care in your province. You can review the specifics in our Privacy Policy.

This is intentional. In Canada, there are strict rules around how certain prescription therapies can be presented publicly — and beyond the regulations, what's appropriate for any individual genuinely depends on their health history, symptoms, and lab results. Listing treatments or prices up front would mean getting ahead of that assessment. Instead, anything specific to your care — including options, recommendations, and costs — is discussed directly with you after your consultation and lab review, once your clinician understands your situation. It's a more responsible way to do this, and it means what you hear is actually relevant to you rather than a generic menu.
